I AM POOLBOY

(also known as Pool Boy across social media) was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit. He studied fine art at Michigan State University while interning at W.B. Donor advertising agency. Shortly after graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Michael moved to Los Angeles, California. There he worked as a creative director for various startup companies, until he decided to follow his passion of comic books and illustration. In 2019, Michael got his first break into comics with Action Lab Comics while attending San Diego Comic Con. In 2021, Michael moved back to his hometown in Rochester Hills, Michigan, where he now spends time quietly creating comic covers, and developing his unpublished passion projects. Since his first cover, Zombie Tramp #68, Michael continues to create cover art for Still Ill Princess, Image Comics, Dynamite, IDW, AWA, Archie Comics, Action Lab Comics, Pulp Girls, and Economics in Comics, with many more on the horizon.
